Get in on the Action

The Westside Celebration Society is a 100% volunteer-operated non-profit society. It was established in 2001 and is responsible for the West Kelowna’s Canada Day celebration and the annual Westside Daze event. Every year more than 9,000 people, including locals and visitors, come together to enjoy these family-friendly events.

Volunteer Opportunities in West Kelowna

West Kelowna’s Westside Daze and Canada Day celebrations simply wouldn’t happen without the incredible energy of our volunteers. We rely on our neighbors and community members to bring the magic to West Kelowna every year.

Whether you’re a master of logistics, a friendly face for guest services, or just someone with a can-do attitude and a few hours to spare, we have a spot for you. We value whatever skills you bring to the table - no contribution is too small, and every helping hand makes our community stronger. Come be part of the team that builds West Kelowna’s favorite summer memories!

Supporting West Kelowna Youth

The West Kelowna Youth Ambassador Program runs under the umbrella of the Westside Celebration Society and is open to young people aged 14-17 in West Kelowna and on Westbank First Nation Land. The non-profit program allows young people to build life skills and self-confidence as they participate in workshops focused on public speaking (from Toastmasters), interview skills, etiquette, and health and wellness. Candidates also learn the history of West Kelowna from the Westbank Museum, as well as city affairs with West Kelowna Mayor, Gord Milsom. Developing these abilities and knowledge will not only prepare the young people for adulthood, but also to help represent West Kelowna throughout BC, should they be elected to the Ambassador team.
